“We engaged Jiun Der Chung back in 2012 to assist with a pool shelter DA. It involved the redesign of a dilapidated structure into something much more significant. Jiun Der was able to come up with a design that met all our needs and get it through council with minimal fuss, even though some aspects were a little controversial.

After that positive experience we engaged him on a full service contract for the renovation of the main house. It is a 1920s 3 level home that had an existing DA approved from 2008 by the previous owners. Jiun Der was able to come up with a very innovative design that improved significantly on the previous DA. He was able to effectively deal with planners and attended 2 council meetings and a mediation session with us. He warned us upfront that there was significant risks associated with the DA as it did not meet all of the council guidelines. We decided to proceed and after 8 months we got the approval with the original design concept completely intact.

So far in our dealings Jiun Der has proved himself to be an innovative thinker, efficient with his time and responsive to our requests. He has gone above and beyond to get what was a difficult DA all the way through the drawn out council process without ever thinking of giving up. “JD assisted us in the design and project management of the building of our home in Beecroft NSW. With a tight timeframe, humble budget and a huge checklist to work with, JD was confronted with what I believe one of the most difficult of client’s briefs.

For example, bringing in the fibre-cement cladding into the interior of the building in order to blur the boundaries between inside and outside.
