Beecroft House

The Client wanted a modern contemporary home despite the fact that the property was located in a heritage conservation area. Despite this, we were able to achieve approval through negotiations with Council by maintaining the front portion of the existing house.

The aim was to create a bold architectural form that combined lavish living spaces, lots of natural light and environmentally sustainable design solutions that made the house comfortable to live in all year round. The living areas, kitchen and existing dwelling all centered around a large generous deck and the use of large corner-less glass sliding doors created flexible indoor/outdoor spaces. This was further enhanced by bringing the external cladding into the living space walls and ceilings, blurring the boundaries between inside and outside

Intricate design detailing enabled us to add innovative and artistic features to otherwise practical functions like the kitchen and WC wall. The use of natural materials throughout the house ensured that the look, design and feel of the spaces would stand the test of time.

Despite the challenging circumstances of a tight time frame and a tight budget, the project was delivered on time and on budget.
