Due to the Client’s limited construction budget, we opted to keep the vast majority of the existing ground floor as a cost saving and add on a first floor addition, whilst still completely change the look and feel of the house. The existing house was dark and cold, particularly during winter. The spaces were opened up to provide open plan living areas and introduce natural sunlight into the living areas. Environmentally sustainable design measures were introduced in order to provide comfortable living conditions during both summer and winter.

Large outdoor terrace/balcony areas were provided on both levels to provide areas to play and relax for the growing family. Overall the existing house was transformed from a drab, unremarkable building into something much more comfortable to live in, as well as significantly improving the capital value of the property.
